Galle :
Is one of the most beautifully located towns in Asia.
Situated 117 kms South of Colombo by the side of the Indian ocean.
Galle, was invaded by the Portuguese at the Beginning of the 16th
century and by the Dutch later on. The best evidence of these Invasions,
is the Gall fortresses. Before Colombo, Galle was the country's
main harbour.
This little town was then famous for it's trading. Such as, Ivory,
Ebony, Gems, Cinnamon, Coffee and other spices.
*** If you do not have much time to do a complete tour, we would
recommend you to At least make an excursion to Galle, to enjoy
the beauty of the coastal belt with blue sea and golden beaches,
or an excursion to Kandy.
