| Nuwara Eliya :
Located 2000 meters above sea level. It's a 3 hours
drive from Kandy. The winding road leads you, through tea plantations
and Factories up to Nuwara-eliya, A small city surrounded by hills
began to prosper with the development of the plantation sector
under the British rule. During the journey you can admire some
of the most breath taking views of the hill Country Mountains covered
by tea plantations, waterfalls, streams and vegetable cultivations.
The city of light (Nuwara-eliya) has a rather cold climate, with
a golf course, tennis courts, and ancient race course and European
styled buildings. It was called little England, but for Sri Lankan's,
Nuwara-eliya is famous for Tea which is one of the main foreign
currency earnings to the country, and for freshly grown vegetable,
and a holiday venue specially during the month of April.
Do not forget to visit a tea factory, and taste a cup of the worlds
finest Tea.
