Sigiriya :

King Kashyapa built the royal citadel in the 5th centaury A.C. He assassinated his Father for his wealth and throne. The famous lion rock in Sigiriya, about 200 meters high is surrounded by thick jungle. While walking through the main Gate a visitor can discover the remains of the magnificent water gardens similar to Those in Versailles. Whilst climbing halfway through the cave you will find the world Famous frescoes of the 5th century, smiling half naked demoiselles of Sigiriya. On, top is the remains of the ancient palace with its swimming pools and the Breathtaking view. Today Sigiriya is considered to be the 8th wonder of the world and a world heritage site, one of the best examples of ancient
Architecture art and unbelievable irrigational work of the country.
